The leftist-Marxist, Antonio Gramsci, is frighteningly deep. He is linked with Machiavelli like no one else I have read. His approach is like an infection that enters the body politic like protective white blood cells and ends up being leukemia.
We lazily think of Marxism as something from a history book, something that we can shrug off as being an historical failure.
Gramsci has revealed for me that Communism/Socialism/Marxism are alive and kicking in a new garb. ...I got dizzy reading about him. We are involved in an existential war of ideas that so few even think about.

The issue of a slow beat Cultural Hegemony is mind-boggling. It is the tool of control. Step back and see it happening through the decades following WW II in our society. Russia/Putin are not heavy handed or barbarian enough to create Cultural Hegemony.
Islam is utilizing Cultural Hegemony more powerfully than ever. How many generations of beheadings, mass murders, nuclear threats, submission and slavery does it take to create Cultural Hegemony? How many academicians minds need to be dulled with the heroin and methamphetamine of utopia?
Why else would Islam be THE growing, dominant (???religion???) political movement in the world? If I believed in reincarnation, I would say that Obama is Gramsci’s telegenic reincarntion.
