Germany is the principle agent behind the euro crisis"
- Rodney Atkinson

The idea that Germany is using its financial clout to
influence the political shape of Europe has been criticised by the businessman
and political economist Rodney Atkinson. He is particularly concerned that
think-tanks in the US have received donations from Germany to promote the cause
of German domination. VoR's Tim Ecott spoke to Mr Atkinson.
Writing on www.freenations.net Mr Atkinson argues that there
has been a 'wave of German propaganda in the UK and the USA'.
He told VoR that as in all successful propaganda, “Articles
that have appeared and the activities of German foundations in America -
funding German-friendly publications - are 75 percent generally accepted truth
and decent things said about German people, and 25 percent lies and deceit
about the activities of the German state.”
When you talk about lies and deceit, what kind of things
might they be saying that is not true?
“For instance the idea that they managed to persuade the
Americans that Germany would be the best country to solve the euro crisis. And
of course Germany is the principle agent behind the euro crisis, refusing to
loosen up monetary policy or even to run in the immediate future budget deficit
in order to relieve its new state, which is called the eurozone.
“The idea that Germany can help other countries in Europe is
a complete fallacy given the fact that the constitutional destructions wrought
by European treaties over the last 40 years have effectively surrendered the
democracy and sovereignty of those nations to the European state, which Germany
now effectively controls.
“In the EU there are 25 million unemployed. There is up to
60 percent youth unemployment in places like Greece and Spain. The
Mediterranean countries are effectively being depopulated – young Spaniards,
Greeks and Italians flee to Germany and the UK to work for German interests,
rather than being able to return to employment in their own countries.”
“The use of NATO and Washington politics to promote an
aggressive policy in Ukraine has led to the return of Cold War.”
And would you lay the blame for that impetus particularly on
Germany vis-à-vis Ukraine?
“After all the very German foundations that we are talking
about that are attached the three major parties in Germany, have been active in
Ukraine for years trying to break it from the influence of Russia.
“As we know, the violence that overthrew the democratically
elected Ukrainian government was very well anticipated and organised from afar.
After all, the Americans have contributed on their own admission five billion
dollars to the overthrow of the Ukrainian government.”
Chancellor Angela Merkel seems to be held up on one hand as
a person, with whom David Cameron says he can do business. But when it comes to
foreign relations, she is also touted as the person, who President Putin in
Russia feels he can do business with. That doesn’t sound like the leader of a
country that neither side can trust, does it?
“Well, I think Merkel has broken with Putin. There has
always been a German double-take on Russia. On one hand, they are nervous about
the old USSR returning, which of course is a complete nonsense. On the other
side, they always had a soft spot for Russia as opposed to the Soviet Union.
Merkel is like most leading German politicians, the victim of the post-war
system in Germany, which set the points to this new form of German hegemony in
western Europe.
“Whether she understand what she is doing or not – I can’t
say.
“One doesn’t have to say that politicians in Germany and
elsewhere in Europe are obnoxious politically and are Nazis and fascists. But
what one has to admit is that leading Nazis and fascists were involved in the
launch of the European Union.”
