California Congresswoman Barbara Lee Wants A $26 Minimum Wage In Her State
California Democratic congresswoman Barbara Lee expressed support for a $26 minimum wage in her state — a move Republican congressman Andy Harris encouraged, assuming jobs would rapidly flee California to his state of Maryland.
Lee and Harris appeared Friday on CNN's "Crossfire," hosted by former Obama advisor Van Jones and former Republican Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. The panel discussed the proposed increase in the federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 per hour.
"Let me ask you this question, you're a good advocate for this," Gingrich asked Lee. "The mayor of Seattle is proposing that the minimum wage ought to go up to $15 an hour."
"Good for him," Lee responded. "In California — more than likely, from what I remembered — a living wage where people could live and take care of their families and move toward achieving the American dream was about $25, $26 an hour."
"So would you support that as a minimum wage for California?" Gingrich asked.
"Absolutely I would support it for California. I think the regional factors –"
"And you don't think that'd have an effect on unemployment?" Gingrich interrupted.
"No, Newt, trust me, believe you me," Lee replied, "you'd have a more productive workforce, you'd have people who could afford to live in areas now where they cannot afford to live. You would increase diversity in certain communities where you don't have diversity anymore. You would have economic parity and the income gap would begin to close."
Gingrich pointed out that many countries in Europe — including economic powerhouse Germany — has no minimum wage, yet has tremendously-high economic productivity and relatively low unemployment. He pointed out the average European country with minimum wage laws had 13.8 percent unemployment. No wage law? Just 6.3 percent.
Lee tried to dismiss the comparison, claiming Europe "has a safety net" that America doesn't possess. But Van Jones quickly moved to change the subject.
If a $26-an-hour minimum wage was instituted in California, employees working 40 hours per week and taking no vacations would earn over $54,000 each year.

BOGnews” The Real War on Women
We are going to start with the babies, the rate of babies
being born in China, India, and Pakistan, and the genocide of them being killed
just because they are girls; they don’t want girls because they feel they are a
lower class, they only want to produce boys. The women are forced to take a sex
determination test to determine the sex of the baby, if the baby is a female it
is aborted, and if they have the child or are too poor to get the test then
they kill the child. There is 200 million missing baby girls because of
genocide in these countries and yet we don’t hear anything about it. I listened
to a woman who murdered 8 of her daughters and showed where she buries them
because she wanted boys; and yet here in America you still think the war on
women is about birth control and abortion? How sad is that.
An Imam came out and pronounced that you can marry a 2 year
old girl, if that is not a war on women that I don’t know what is, I couldn’t
imagine my daughter at the age of 2 being taken from me and given in marriage
to a 30 year old man who is able to have sex with here, that is the most
horrible thing I have heard in my life. Iran’s president announced that you can
marry a girl under the age of 9, again who in their right mind would want to
marry a 9 year old little girl? This is sickens me to the core of who I am and
women around the world should be outraged, but where are those liberal groups?
OH I know they are sitting in Hollywood trying to figure out why republicans
have a war on the birth control.
Sex trafficking girls who have been kicked out of orphanages
at the age of 16 or families from little villages give their daughters to go to
the big cities to be an indentured servant and it turns out to be a sex trade,
and this is happening from Thailand to Russia. All these little girls being
used and abused like garbage and yet there is no outrage for this either. We
aren’t even talking about the physical damage but about the mental damage,
where do they go when they have been used and are not wanted anymore, where do
they go? The shame of going home is too much so they stay in the sex
trafficking business. Where is your outrage, but yet I don’t hear anyone coming
to rescue these girls.
What about the beating of women who are married to a Muslim?
They can be beaten publicly with a cane for any reason they want and yet you
see this over and over. They can publicly stone women because the husband wants
a younger woman or he’s tired of her, for whatever reason a man says a woman
can be stoned to death. What about honor killings? When family members can just
kill a girl for no reason or for the simple reason of not celebrating a
holiday, or wearing the wrong clothing, or said the wrong things a father can
chop off his daughters head and parade it around the village and no one cares.
But the worst of these crimes comes now.
Acid, it’s one of the
most horrific things you could do to a woman, throwing acid in their face and
changing their appearance for the rest of their lives. This is a way for a man
to make sure that his wife, or the girl he wants to marry that doesn’t want to
marry him will never be with another man because they are scared for the rest
of their life. They cannot work, they cannot marry, and most of the time they
cannot even go back to their families. It is such a dishonor that these women
are left with such a painful scar that the only thing they can do is beg for
money on the streets to feed themselves. As a burn survivor I know the pain and
anguish they feel being burned. I know what it feels like to be scorned and
laughed at because of your scars. I know what it feels like when men don’t want
to date you because of your scars. It is one of the hardest thing to live with
and yet these women have no choice because once you are disfigured with this
acid you have nothing to look forward to, there is no life. Surgery can only do
so much if the acid gets in your eyes you lose your eyes, if it gets into your
throat you can barely speak, if it gets in your hair, you have no hair. This is
one of the most horrific things a human being can do to another and yet it happens
daily. To me as a woman this is the worst war on women I have ever seen and yet
in my country America we think it’s about birth control and abortion, how sad
are the women in this country, how pitifully they take this life for granted,
how ashamed I am of these women because they don’t see the reality of others.

Men Gang-Rape a 7-Year-old Christian Girl in Pakistan
According to recent research, the cases of sexual abuse and
violence - especially against young Christian girls - are on the rise in the
province of Punjab, under the complicit silence of the police and the judicial
authorities. Father John Arshad, a priest involved in the protection of
minority rights, condemns the sexual assault on a girl of only seven years and
the kidnapping of the parent, “to put pressure on the family not to report the
crime”. The “silence” of civil society, he adds, heightens the drama of the
story even more.
With a population of more than 180 million people (97 per
cent Muslim), Pakistan is the sixth most populous country in the world, the
second largest Muslim nation after Indonesia. About 80 per cent of Muslims are
Sunni, whilst Shias are 20 per cent. Hindus are 1.85 per cent, followed by
Christians (1.6 per cent) and Sikhs (0.04 per cent). Violence against ethnic
and religious minorities is commonplace across the country, with Shia Muslims
and Christians as the main target, with things getting worse. Dozens episodes ,
including targeted attacks against entire communities – such as in Gojra in
2009 or Joseph Colony Lahore last year – or abuses against individuals (Asia
Bibi , Rimsha Masih or the young Robert Fanish Masih, who also died in his
cell), are often perpetrated under the pretext of the blasphemy laws
Terrified villagers were shot to death as they fled. This is
genocide. This is ethnic cleansing. This is jihad. But there is something more
heinous than the conquest and slaughter rooted in jihad doctrine: the silence
and the sanction of the West. The world says nothing. The only thing more
overwhelming than the body count in the global jihad is the denial, apathy, and
endless apologies for Islam that we hear from the mainstream media and the
governments of the West. CNN says that the kidnapping of hundreds of
schoolgirls by jihadists “isn’t shocking.” My fellow human beings, it is
shocking and savage. We are descending into a world of savagery sanctioned by
the “civilized.” The modern age of the savage is upon us. For reasons that only
Barack Obama can answer, the State Department took far too long to designate
this savage Islamist group, Boko Haram, a terrorist organization

In the mid 1990s when the Serbs were making claims that thousands of terrorists were entering Bosnia as "Humanitarian aid workers" but in reality were there as "mercenaries," to fight the Serbs, the media pretended not to know. This image w...as taken in Tuzla where they were seen in uniform during a Muslim parade...these are the terrorists from Osama bin Laden's training camps in Afghanistan...the western media and the State Department also pretended this was Serbian propaganda...when the war ended Clinton and Holbrooke, then insisted that these "mercenaries" had to leave the country...revealing how much they lied...several hundred remained in Bosnia and married Bosnian women getting them Bosnian citizenship...they went on to foment violence in Kosovo that led to the Civil War and 78 days of bombing. Welcome to "Truth in Media"...an oxymoron in our so called free press

Serbia's Secret War: Propaganda and the Deceit of History by Philip Cohen, a dentist, and Dr. David Riesman was dissected early in 1991 when this dentist, without a shred of education in Balkan history and who would have had to comb through... thousands of documents written in Serbo-Croatian provides for us a fairy tale of unbelievable distortions, Riesman a Jew, should have been ashamed of putting his name on such a book, but like Cohen the both defecate on historical accuracy.
From my book Jasenovac Then & Now: A Conspiracy of Silence I present here some excerpts by Dr. J.P. Maher, a linguistic professor in Chicago...Reading Dr. Cohen’s book and some rave reviews took this old Fulbrighter right back to the time of Chairman Mao. His Great Cultural Revolution was in full hue and cry in the Winter Semester of 1966 when I was teaching in Sofia. “This book,” as we are told by the Series Editor, Stjepan (Stipe) Mestrovic, scion of the famed Yugoslav clan, is “... the second in a series on Eastern European Studies. Dr. Cohen has, we are to believe, mastered in the brief span of a couple years, the skill of writing a reasonable facsimile of academic historians’ prose, and has metabolized reams of Balkan chronicles.
Already in 1992 our dentist served as expert on the Clinton-Gore transition team. What talent scout deserves the credit? Dr. Cohen’s Balkanological achievements are the more remarkable for his inability to read Serbo-Croatian, not to speak of the Serbian, Croatian, and Bosnian languages. To overcome this handicap Dr. Cohen “headed,” one reviewer tells us, “a team of translators.” — How, I ask, does one go about “heading” a team of translators, especially when one is not a translator? For those interested in consulting such a valuable research resource, there is no indication of the identity of the translators nor of the archive in which the translations have been deposited. Typographically, too, the Cohen book is anomalous. Its over-generous margins and spacing increase the bulk of the book by about a third over a normally produced book. School kids call it “padding.”
There is a laudatory foreword from the pen of David Riesman, not a dentist, but Professor Emeritus of the Harvard University Department of Sociology and author of the best-seller, The Lonely Crowd. Like Dr. Cohen, Professor Riesman, is unfettered by a preparation in Balkan studies. He even, Mestrovic tells us, skipped sociology, for he “came to Sociology from Law.” Lawyer-sociologist Riesman writes of Serb backwardness: Serbia is a country in which “illiterates could rise to leadership and even to the monarchy.” Dr. Riesman may have had in mind the likes of Milos Obrenovic, but leaves the impression that his illiteracy was the fruit of autochthonous Serb culture, when it was really the necessary consequence of Islamic precept, the Turkish Kaun i Raya — “Law for the Slaves.” Muslim policy towards infidels was—and still is— take Sudan, for example — identical to the English Penal Laws in Ireland, but it seems to have slipped Mr. Riesman’s mind that 14th century Serbia’s Tsar Dusan Silni stood out among contemporary West European monarchs in that Dusan “the Mighty” knew how to read and write. In a wee oversight Dr. Riesman has omitted Vuk Stefanovic Karadzic, from whom Goethe learnt, unlike Dr. Cohen, to read Serbian. Eighteenth century Dubrovnik, Iying far from authentic Croatia, which was then a few counties in Great(er) Hungary, boasted the polymath Rudjer Boskovic, like Tesla, son of an Orthodox priest. Since then the Serbs have also produced the likes of Mihajlo Pupin, Nikola Tesla, Einstein’s wife Mileva Maric etc. etc.

No Time to gather witnesses, No time to look for evidence, No time for NATO investigators, No time for Hague Tribunals, No time for caskets or funerals, ...killed Serbs were quickly prayed over and thrown in the ground. Justice remained a... foreign concept to Serbs during the War on Serbia. The U.S. and NATO did not give a rats ass about murdered Serbs...they were too busy investigating Muslim deaths and arranging trial dates at The Hague.
