A&E folded faster than a guy holding Jack high! GLAAD’s response: “Phil Robertson should look African American and gay people in the eyes and hear about the hurtful impact of praising Jim Crow laws and comparing gay people to terrorists. If dialogue with Phil is not part of next steps then A&E has chosen profits over African American and gay people – especially its employees and viewers.” Sure GLAAD except: 1) Robertson never praised “Jim Crow laws” & 2) As fo...r “comparing gay people to terrorists” this is exactly what the man said: “We just love ’em, give ’em the good news about Jesus—whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists.” GLAAD’s right about one thing though, this was no A&E epiphany, this was all about a 22% drop last week in their 25-54 demo. So Robertsons go finish your contract and then tell A&E to pound all the sand in the Sahara! Granted this is one small battle, and an effort 1,000 times this is needed to win the war. But it did prove one thing, Americans are fed up with “tolerance” always being a one-way street!
