April 26th – What happened at the Bundy ranch was never about an individual, and as it turns out (like every one of us) never about an imperfect individual. In an effort to be “fair & balanced” this quote from Dem & lib icon Eleanor Rooseve...lt: “Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people.” The “idea” in this case being that the federal government has grown too big and too often wields far too much power. The “event” being that hundreds of armed feds invaded a Nevada ranch to collect on an unpaid bill, when a simple property lien would have been appropriate. The “people” or person here of course being Cliven Bundy. So the media that has virtually ignored the “event” and the “idea” the event represents, instead focused like a laser beam on the impolitic remarks from a private individual. Including some on the right. Eleanor Roosevelt was right, “Small minds discuss people.” “Small minds” that never wish to address the REAL ISSUES threatening America today.
