December 6th – It’s beer & skittles for the lib media now that unemployment has dropped to 7.0%. Appropriate since you have to be drunk to think the numbers are good. Let’s compare this month to December 2006, the last month Republicans controlled the WH and both houses of Congress: 1) Unemployment 12/06 – 4.4%, 11/13 – 7.0% 2) U-6 Unemployment (includes part time) 12/06 – 7.9%, 11/13 – 13.2% 3) Median Weeks Unemployed 12/06 – 7.5, 11/13 – 17.0 4) Avg. Weeks Unemployed 12/...06 – 16.1, 11/13 – 37.2 5) 2008 Median Household Income (the year O was elected) - $53,644, Today - $51,017 Not the best time for skyrocketing healthcare premiums! 6) Labor Force Participation Rate 12/06 - 66.4%, 11/13 – 63.0% (lowest in 35 years) If rate today was same as 12/06 unemployment would be at 11.8%! & 7) Employment-Population Ratio 12/06 - 63.4%, 11/13 – 58.6% If we had the 12/06 ratio today nearly 12 MILLION more Americans would be working. BLS stands for Bureau of Labor Statistics, but removing the L from BLS is far more accurate!
