Want to know how you can do something very small but something that will affect lives in wonderful ways? Including your own. Do you have a VA hospital in your city or within reasonable driving distance? Visit there. Here's a New Year's resolution - commit to going to your local VA & making the rounds there at least 4 times this year. Anybody can do that.
Most of us have, at some point in life, been cooped up in a hospital room & know how miserable that is. Stuck watching day...time game shows and eating tasteless mush 3x a day. Well, imagine that + the mental and physical agony of having lost a leg (or whatever) while defending your nation's freedom.
Round up a couple other patriots, stop by the store and get a sack full of Hersey's chocolate bars, then spend an afternoon roaming the halls of your VA hospital handing them out, listening to those soldiers & vet's stories, talk about their families, pray with and for them and just generally be a blessing. I promise, it will be the most rewarding few hours of your month.
Go love on a soldier!
