( There’s that word again !)
China’s , so called, abolition of the “Re-education Through Labour” (RTL) ca...mps, (where for decades millions of people were sent without a trial and , in numerous instances, without even being charged with a crime !)
is no more than a “cosmetic change” , (just like their modern cities), meant to fool the world that the Communist Chinese are becoming more humane with their citizens and detainees.
That they have changed their ways.
It’s all a huge mirage !!
It’s a lie !!
The communist Chinese now have so-called “black jails” and “brainwashing centers” .
These are just the same places under a different name !
“…it now appears that it may only be a cosmetic change just to avert the public outcry over the abusive RTL system, where torture was rife, It’s clear that the underlying policies of punishing people for their political activities or religious beliefs haven’t changed.
The abuses and torture are continuing….”
- Corinna-Barbara Francis / Amnesty International.
The old “Re-education” camps are just re-labeled and continue operating as they always have ! We have seen this trick throughout history, as Communist / Socialist countries enforce compliance without regard to dignity of human life. The state rules totally, without regard to personal liberty because it can not “coexist” with the dominance of state control.
“Black Jails”:
Thousands of Chinese citizens are being held, incommunicado, for months in secret unlawful detention facilities known as "black jails" by state agents who violate detainees' rights with impunity.
A 53-page report by Human Rights Watch , called "An Alleyway in Hell," documents how government officials and security forces routinely abduct people off the streets of Beijing and other Chinese cities, strip them of their possessions, and imprison them. These black jails are often located in state-owned hotels, nursing homes, and psychiatric hospitals.
- Human Rights Watch
"The existence of black jails in the heart of Beijing makes a mockery of the Chinese government's rhetoric on improving human rights and respecting the rule of law,"
-Sophie Richardson,

Communist Chinese authorities continue to deny their existence, leaving detainees potentially at even more at risk than in the old RTL system.
Torture is rampant.
“It is common for the Chinese Communist Party to make an apparent change on the surface to help bolster its image, while behind the scenes, it’s business as usual”
-Levi Browde
Detainees told Amnesty International how they were severely beaten, sometimes with electric batons, denied food, subjected to simulated drowning, injected with unknown drugs and subjected to the “rack” torture.
Zhang Lianying, 52:
She was sent three times to a camp for refusing to give up her religious beliefs. At the notorious Masanjia camp she was subjected to “rack” torture over 20 times for days at a time. She often had to endure this torture naked, and was not fed, allowed to drink, sleep or go to the bathroom during the entire time.
She told Amnesty International that she was beaten immediately after arriving at the camp.
“A male guard hit my face again and again with handcuffs and with his fists. They tried to pry open my mouth… and took turns smashing my mouth and teeth with metal ladles. Blood gushed out of my mouth. Male and female guards grabbed my hair and banged my head against the wall and a table.”
Other detainees described being put through mental torture, with officials telling them they were responsible for the end of their marriages, and threatening persecution of their relatives and denying them family visits unless they “confessed”.
Detainees were also forced to discipline and “re-educate” other detainees.
“The Chinese authorities must immediately end all forms of arbitrary detention, and ensure that laws protecting detainees are brought in line with international human rights standards.
-Corinna-Barbara Francis.
Good luck with that !!
These are Socialists / Communists we are talking about !
It NEVER changes.
Never will !!
And don’t even try to tell me that “It’s not Socialism” when it is !!
Here’s a little known fact regarding the difference between Socialism and Communism:
“The Communist Party of Australia (CPA) was founded in 1920 and dissolved in 1991; it was succeeded by the Socialist Party of Australia, which then renamed itself, becoming the current Communist Party of Australia.”
-Wikipedia
(I can’t make this up !!!)
“Birds of a feather……”
Don’t be fooled.
Welcome to Socialism and Communism in 2014.
Isn’t it great ?
