The 2 photos below are of gathered world leaders at the NATO conference, one's from 2010, the other a week ago today. I'm going to ride to the defense of a fellow conservative pundit who's taken a lot of heat lately for pointing this, yet a...
nother presidential fubar, out. She tweeted, posted, blogged about this & has been thoroughly hammered by libs + conservatives alike with comments along the lines of, "Look, it's a stupid photo..we look silly picking on his every move. I dislike him and everything he stands for but really.....grow up!"

While I'll admit some validity to that argument the other side of that coin is the president consistently opens himself up to this type of criticism. Its seemingly 'amateur hour' on a constant basis with this guy. So it is b/c we are picking on him, or b/c he consistently does things worthy of picking? Or both?

At NATO 2010 he waved during a group photograph; blocking the face of another world leader behind him. Ok, it was your first time, we get that 146 days in the U.S. Senate was not a ton of prep time for the job & you're gonna make some rookie mistakes. But then he did it AGAIN last week!

When you're the President of the United States you have to understand & expect that public scrutiny of your actions is a part of the job.

-You don't "wave" during a NATO group photo, unless of course everyone else is waving. And you certainly don't when you're on the front row & there are people standing behind you. This is 5th grade stuff.
-You don't give a statement on the brutal death-by-beheading of an American citizen then go golfing & be seen yucking it up with your buddies 15 minutes later.
-You don't fly around the world bowing down to people. Ever.
-You learn the proper pronunciation of your underlings & don't give *prepared* speeches in which you call subordinates Marine "corpse-men".
-You don't decline to place you hand over your heart during the Pledge
-You don't go yucking it up & snapping selfies at the funeral of a world leader, a man like Nelson Mandela
-Etc., etc., etc.

This is a pattern. There are standards and protocols of behavior if not professionalism that behooves the office of the President. A President needs to be presidential. Do WE look silly for criticizing his lack of understanding of such protocols? Perhaps and probably. However I'd also say that HE looks silly for not knowing them.
