THE CLINTONS KNOW HOW TO LIE...TO MANIPULATE THE MEDIA AND TO DEMONIZE FOR THEIR POLITICAL AGENDA...THIS WEEK CLINTON AND ALRIGHT RETURNED TO THE SCENE OF THEIR CRIMES IN BOSNIA...PRETENDING TO HAVE SYMPATHIES FOR THE DEAD THAT THEY PERSONALLY CREATED BY AIDING, ARMING AND TRAINING MUSLIM TERRORISTS WHO WENT ON TO HARVEST THE ORGANS OF THEIR SERBIAN PRISONERS OF WAR...YET THE PARTISAN PRESS NEVER WROTE ABOUT THESE HORRORS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WAR THAT THEY CREATED...THE PARTISAN PRESS BECAME THE WHORES OF THE MEDIA WRITING AND FABRICATING EVERY EVENT FOR A BYLINE...MORALS, ETHICS AND CHARACTER WERE THROWN INTO THE NEREST GUTTER ALL FOR THE LOVE OF MONEY AND 15 MINUTES OF FAME...
IN THE INTRODUCTION TO HIS BOOK WITNESS TO GENOCIDE, ROY GUTMAN WROTE..."Having set such lofty standards, I immediately made an exception and wrote about the Omarska Camp which I had not visited, based on a secondhand witness account." In other words he lied, fabricated and omitted any facts that would have spoiled his article and his book. Guzman threatened to sue me as the publisher and Peter Brock for his book Media Cleansing: Dirty Reporting...I begged him to sue me and the bastard put his sleazy cowardly tail between his legs and fled...
IN OTHER WORDS, HUMDREDS OF JOURNALISTS TOOK GUTMAN'S LEAD IN STEPPING OFF OF THEIR "LOFTY" PERCHES AND TO FABRICATE, LIE AND DISTORT THE FACT TO SERVE THEIR ARTICLES. MAY THEY ALL ROT IN HELL, A POX ON ALL OF THEIR HOUSES.
The Truth behind the Barbed Wire by William Dorich
The picture did not shame the world it shamd the media for this hideous lie and used this image to demonize Serbia.
Two months before Battiata’s report in The Washington Post, sensational images taken by a British television cameraman horrified the world showing several malnourished and supposedly brutalized men reaching through barbed wire at Trnopolje, shaking hands with three reporters on August 5, 1992.
Apparently, there could be no doubt that the notorious Nazi concentration camps of a half-century earlier were resurrected in Bosnia. All too graphic, close-up and wide-angle television shots would not lie. The proof was, it seemed, indisputable.
Within forty-eight hours, screaming headlines and telecasts worldwide sent government leaders and policy-makers scurrying:
“BELSEN ‘92”
“THE PROOF! Behind the barbed wire,
the brutal truth about the suffering in Bosnia”
“Evidence mounts of executions and beatings
in Serb-run camps”
“HORROR OF THE NEW HOLOCAUST”
“THE PICTURE THAT SHAMES THE WORLD”
It was “the picture” that played the news for days to come. Front pages. Margin-to-margin. Top-to-bottom. The dominant American news-weeklies, Time and Newsweek, had passed deadlines and did not have time to re-plate for upcoming editions, deciding to wait until August 17th to give Trnopolje the splashy treatment. Meanwhile, the U.S. dailies and television networks were churning it out.
Time and Newsweek lunged into the free-for-all ten days later.
Time went with five large photos, including the cover, showing “the picture” with the young Bosnian Muslim man, the skeletal Fekrit Alic, his washboard rib-cage, grotesquely thin limbs and a jack-o’lantern grin that was more a grimace leering out of an open grave.
Newsweek laid out fifteen large photos, including the cover and another unidentified but equally emaciated, shirtless man from the same footage from Trnopolje.
Even though the Trnopolje event had sparked the sudden, frenzied coverage, both Time and Newsweek buttressed the breaking video effect with less recent photos from Sarajevo.
But, Serbian television crews were on hand on August 5 and filmed the interviews by International Television News (ITN) with Alic and others. ITN and the Serb cameras never showed Alic and his companions “surrounded” by any barbed wire. Instead, ITN filmed between four top strands of rusted, sagging barbed wire strung haphazardly between posts—with a thin “chicken-wire” mesh hanging underneath.
By contrast, heavy-gauge, woven and electrified barbed wire is seen in the stark, black-and-white, double-page photo of Bergen-Belsen in The Washington Post Magazine’s article. But contrasted with the small inset color photo of Alic at Trnopolje, the comparison was an obvious mismatch—even with several bare-chested companions of Alic’s who’d intentionally removed their shirts to show some weight-loss. But contrasted to Alic and a few others who were similarly gaunt and shirtless, more than several—especially those who kept their shirts on—appeared comparatively well-fed. The equally reasonable explanation was that the visibly undernourished men were just released from the Keraterm detention camp, while the others arrived from areas with conditions of less privation.
The difference between the photograph of Bergen-Belsen and Trnopolje was that there was no chicken-wire at Bergen-Belsen.
But, cameramen and layout editors cropped the photos of Alic so that the three or four strands of old barbed wire were emphasized. Tellingly, the chicken-wire was plainly visible in all the publications and telecasts of “the picture” on August 6th and 7th, and thereafter.
Serbian television footage of the August 5th encounter at Trnopolje, which filmed the ITN crew during its visit and interviews with the men on the other side of the fence. ITN cameraman Jeremy Irvin hyped the shot.
What the world was not told was that Penny Marshall and her camera crew were inside a compound where farming equipment was stored, it was surrounded by barbed wire...the camera crew climbed over the few strands of barbed wire to create this infamous image that implied these were prisoners surrounded in a barbed wire encampment...that was a total lie and a fabricated picture that did indeed get the desired results to demonize the Serbs, even if the image was totally orchestrated. The media also failed to tell their readers that Alic suffered from TB for many years as that would destroy the impression that the Serbs were starving these people.
