November 21st – Rules? Dingy Harry Reid don’t need no stinkin’ rules! In July even the NY Times’ Jeremy Peters warned of Reid’s plans, writing: “rather than the 67 votes usually needed to change the Senate rules, Democrats would do so with a majority” a.k.a. the “nuclear option.” And Harry dropped the big one today, as Senate Dems voted 52-48 to end the long-standing filibuster rule for executive and judicial appointments. So now O can step on the gas packing the courts. The Daily Caller’s Matt Lewis makes an excellent point: “If Republicans went nuclear first in order to ram through right-wing judges, how would breaking the rules have played in the media?” Mitch McConnell: “He might just as well have said, ‘If you like the rules of the Senate, you can keep them!’” But poor Reid insists he had no choice saying: “It’s time to change the Senate before this institution becomes obsolete.” Oh it’s about to change Harry, see the polls on Obamacare lately? Gotta feeling the Senate is going to change big time in November 2014. MINORITY LEADER REID has a nice ring to it!
