THE 17TH Amendment Must Be repealed

From CATO Institute’s pocket Constitution:
“Appealing to all mankind, the Declaration’s seminal passage opens with perhaps the most important line in the document: “We hold these truths to be self-evident.” Grounded in reason, “self-evident” truths invoke the long tradition of natural law, which holds that there is a “higher law” of right and wrong from which ...to derive human law and against which to criticize that law at any time. It is not political will, then, but moral reasoning, accessible to all, that is the foundation of our political system.”

Today, which is it that is overshadowing our daily political struggle: moral reasoning or political will?

While there will always be a degree of political will, that flawed human character is running amuck because there is no check and balance to the natural nationalistic nature of our congressional national body- the Congress.

Our founders knew of this democratic flaw, which is why the distinctly worked on and perfected/articulated the importance of a union of independent states, and ensured those states would have their influence felt, as a buffer against nationalism, on the Hill by way of an appointed Senate.

But with the advent of the 17th Amendment political will overtook moral reasoning, and that's what has brought us to the mess we have today. Politically, economically, morally, socially .. we are broken; our moral reasoning overwhelmed by manufactured political crisis.

Entitlement feeds our selfish nature, sustained by fear, perpetrated through the guise of civil rights –as opposed to human rights, and fulfilled by drawing on the yet-to-be earned wealth of future generations

We have no one to blame but our selfish selves.

The only fix we have left is but one chance; first, we must begin by repealing the 17th Amendment. Any other avenue only takes us further and further into the darkness. No matter which side of the political aisle you are on, no Party will find redemption until we restore the Republic and bring back moral reasoning: the 17th must be repealed.
